Does REIA Professional Edition work on all Windows computers?
Yes, as long as you have Microsoft Excel 2000 or greater installed on your computer. Microsoft Works, Quattro Pro, Star Office and other spreadsheets will not run our programs. REIA will work with Windows 2000, XP, and Vista.
How large is the program?
The Excel workbook size is approximately 5 MB; the installer file is approx. 16 MB.
Does the program come with a User's Guide?
Yes, the software installs with a PDF user guide of approximately 100 pages. Additionally, you can find answers to your questions in the realdata.com website knowledgebase. A printed user guide is also available.
Are your programs easy to use?
RealData has created its worksheets with user-friendliness in mind: all you need to do is enter your data and click a button to print reports. We color-code data entry cells, provide convenient cellnotes for on-screen contextual help, and include a comprehensive user guide. Additionally, free support and training are available by phone or email.
I am concerned about downloading your software.
The majority of RealData customers download their software. You can easily make your own backup by saving the installer file to a floppy disk or by burning it to a CD. You can contact us at any time to reinstall your software or to obtain your serial number.
How long does it take to download the software?
RealData's software installer files are 12 to 17 MB in size and should download in 10 to 15 minutes at most with a 56k dialup connection and much faster with DSL or cable-modem service.
How often do you upgrade and what is the cost?
We upgrade our programs approximately every two years and make minor interim updates on a regular basis. See our upgrades and builds pages for more information.
How is RealData's software licensed?
Our software is licensed to an individual for his or her use only. Please see our license agreement.
Do you provide tech support?
Tech support is free of charge by email or telephone. We are glad to help you with everything from installation of the software to answering your specific questions on the software's use, content and rationale.
Is your online purchasing secure?
Yes, RealData has its own secure certificate and encrypts all information during the ordering process. As an additional security measure, we do not store credit card information on our server.
What if I buy the Express Edition - can I upgrade later to the Professional Edition?
Yes, Express users can upgrade to the Professional Edition at any time for a special upgrade price. Call us or see our upgrade page for more information.
Can I customize your programs?
Yes, if you are proficient with Microsoft Excel. Most visible worksheets in our products are not password protected, so you can unlock them and make changes. You can also add user worksheets to extend the software.
We recommend that you do so only if you are proficient with Excel. Keep in mind that there are parts of each program that are not visible or accessible, including macro (VBA) code and hidden sheets used for formatting reports and for complex interim calculations. If you make custom changes to a program you may disrupt the operation of these aspects of the program. Please understand that we do not provide technical support for software that has been modified.
Can I customize REIA’s reports?
Yes, there are a number of report options: select the number of years that are presented in the report, choose color or black/white, select a printer and indicate the number of copies to print.
Can I send reports to colleagues, clients and lenders?
Yes, install our free RealData PDF print driver and you can produce Acrobat PDF files of any report. These files can be easily attached to an email.
