What is a #REF! error

A #REF! error occurs when a cell reference to a formula or range name is invalid. This usually means that a formula/range name is missing or has been deleted.

With RealData software, this often occurs when users have unprotected a worksheet and have made modifications to the program. Tracing missing formulas is extremely difficult. It is usually easier to start over with a blank worksheet and reenter your data.

#REF errors can also occur in our programs if you use the CUT and PASTE functions within Excel. Such actions often cause irreversible damage to formulas throughout the program. In this case, you will need to start over with a blank worksheet.

Both REIA Professional Edition and Personal Financial Statement have an Import feature which can save time when you need to recover from a #REF! error.
